Doha, Qatar – Run The World is more than just a festival. It is a celebration and learning experience that unites thousands of young individuals from around the region to network and empower themselves through outstanding talents, activities opportunities, discussions, and exposure to cultures from around the globe. For the third consecutive year, The Youth Company, Qatar, will be hosting its annual Run The World Festival – Qatar’s most anticipated youth-oriented event. The 3-day event will take place from the 19th to 21st of December 2013 and is expected to welcome over 35,000 visitors to participate in its programs and activities.
As one of TYC’s chief youth events, Run The World presents an exciting opportunity for youth between the ages of 14 to 29 years to participate in a rangeof sports, showcase outstanding talents, get involved in community projects, aswell as to gain exposure to different cultures of the world through competitions, talks and the global village fair. Moreover, youth willing to participate in organizing the festival will be given the chance to apply and volunteer for specified jobs.
“Through RTWF, we aim to encourage the youth to network with others and enhance their experiences through sports, culture and community engagement, ultimately partaking in the largest youth event of the year in Qatar. This year, are hoping to welcome even more visitors to this exciting installment of RTWF,” says Mohamed Farid, Founder and Chairman of The Youth Company International.
Since its launch in 2011, Run The World Festival has had an increasing response from the community. With more than tens of thousands of visitors in the previous year, the festival has managed to double its attendance to reach a remarkable standard. By the year 2012 alone, RTWF received 27,000 visitors, hosted 9 events, engaged 700 volunteers, 100 performers, and 65 Youth Got Talent Participants, meanwhile receiving 51 media hits, 100 photography and video submissions, and cooperating with 34 organizations.
This year, RTWF is composed of three exciting installments: the RTW Talks in November, discussing community topics with experts through a series of forums, the RTW Festival in December, featuring some familiar events, such as the Youth Got Talent contest, STREET and PLAY|SPORTS – where visitors can take part in Parkour, Graffiti design and join several sports activities. RTW Festival will also include the Village, a unique fair that unites over 30 cultural groups, associations, and even youth clubs exhibiting their work.
Last but not least, a platform will be presented for youth to initiate and develop their own sustainable projects through RTW Legacy, which will be presented as an open conference and rewarding system for acknowledging the achievements of driven young people with potential. With already over 700 volunteers, more than 60 organizers, and a number of recognized partners and providers, there is no doubt that this year’s RTW Festivalwill be a phenomenal success. As the key youth event of the season, TYC appreciates all the help that it receives from its target customer base – the youth themselves. TYC is now operating at full gear, and the youth are certainly looking forward to the two months ahead.
