Lam Art Gallery invites you to a solo exhibition of Khobar based artist Hussein Al Mohasen. In his most recent works, he goes deeper into dialogue with color. He likes to be very simple in his artwork and make things colorful and different from the way they look in real life. He started with graffiti art through which he was able to see people all over the world showing how they feel with just a few words sprayed onto a wall. For him, this type of work is liberating.
To him, art is his language and channel of communication, which takes part in many dialogues between viewers of his work and himself. His work reflects visual narrative of various experiences and the way he comprehends the world around him.

Hussein considers culture universal rather than regional and refers to poetry to explore this idea. He reflects human rights in his work. For example: in the artwork Oil For Food, he explores the idea of freedom and food, and that food should be a basic human right rather than a privilege.
Hussein Al Mohasen (b. 1971, Qatif) has been active in the art world in the Gulf region since his first appearance in 1999 at the Al-Janadriya Festival in his native country Saudi Arabia; since then he occupied a place with the pioneering Saudi artists.
Hussein participated in several exhibitions and attended several courses and workshops in Saudi Arabia and the United States. He is also a member of the Qatif Art Group as well as the Bahrain Art Society. Apart from holding his solo exhibition at Inma Art Gallery in 2001, Hussein has participated and won in several exhibitions around the Kingdom. Those who have followed Hussein through his travels have seen his work vary in technique and form, from working with black and white, etching, scraper board and wood to moving on to brighter and remarkable blends of rich colors. Hussein plans to create newer and contemporary art forms that go on to deeper scales.
This event is also in-line with the inauguration of the Saudi Design Week. Saudi Design Week is an annual platform for art and design. The inaugural edition will take place from
